For extreme materials such as stretch film or foams, sufficient drying by mechanical and thermal means is not possible without enormous energy input. The solution to this problem is offered by the Herbold Plastcompactor, a modern compacting machine. Friction on and between the compactor's compacting discs heats, dries and compacts the material at the same time. When recycling PET bottles, the result is a double benefit: the material is crystallized at the same time. In all applications, bulk density and pourability are significantly improved.
